Hi my name is Katie Gaudet. I learned about myfitnesspal.com from a friend at school. She told me she had lost several pounds by just writing everything down and only consuming the amount of calories recommended for her body weight. I have been dieting for basically all my life. I have done Atkins, South beach, Weight watchers, my moms diets, and etc. I also have a lot of GI problems and the doctors have taken me off of all diary products, fructose and sugar products, and gluten products. For a while, believe it or not, I was only eating vegetables, my gluten free bread (once a day) and meat. However, recently i was diagnosed with endometriosis. So now its process of elimination to figure out what I am allergic too. I have a lot of intolerances and a lot of sensitivity to many foods. However, the skin allergy test only showed I was allergic to: milk, birch tree, and soy. Who knows! Point being I still cant loose weight. I'm stuck. I try too but I cave in. I have no idea what to eat, so Im just going to eat a lot of fruits and veggies, now that I can finally eat fruit again:) I would like to loose 20 pounds.. I am 158 right now and I would like to be 138! I want to be happy and feel good in my clothes. I don't feel good at all. Wish me good luck!

Good luck....and try and not think of things in terms of diet but a life change you want to make for yourself. Either way you're very young and have a long time to figure things out so it's awesome you're doing it while your metabolism is still through the roof.0

Since you are only 17, I suggest removing your last name from this post.0

Hi katie one thing i learned when i lost 100lbs before is muscle is your friend...muscle burns fat i could run on a treadmill and all day, diet and not lose any weight...but if i lift weights i loose weight like crazy. Many woman are worried about looking like a chick body builder but you won't unless you take drugs when doing it. give it a shot it worked for me and i am doing it again0

I agree with the poster above, give yourself a 'nickname' girl.
I would also consult a doc about wanting to loose weight. They might have more information as far as you health issues and what are the safest ways for you to loose.
Good luck to you, and focus more on being healthy and not so much on the number on the scale. I know, I know you probably hear it all the time, you are young but just making healthier choice through out the day can make a huge difference.
Make sure you are eating ALL the calories you need, starving yourself of just eating veggies will not make you loose weight.
Best of luck my dear!0 -

Again, good luck working with your doctors (and dietitians?) figuring it all out!0
