hey everyone!! nearly every day i go over the limit in my sugar intake. but all my sugars come from fruit, yogurt, or veggies like sqush and carrots, nothing artificial. should i really limit fruits and such? i feel like by eating fruit it keeps me from eating the bad sugars.

In my personal opinion (and as my loving food diary will tell you) I am a sugar NUT, but was also borderline diabetic in HS, I still eat my sugars (processed & natural) but much prefer to take them in the natural way, which also gives me more fiber.

Natural sugar IS better then the processed junk, so if an apple keeps you away form a candy bar track something else in that collumn like sodium which makes you retain water & gain weight.

Also, Sugar is water soluble, so if you are drinking more then your 8 cups a day you are actually helping flush it from your system

Those numbers are guidelines only. If eating a lot of fruit is keeping you from eating refined sugar, then stick with it.

Wow. That's where the whole processed sugar, natural sugar thing gets so grey and hard to balance. I also eat tons of fruit and I just can't accept that it's bad. Most have the exact opposite problem. I wouldn't think you'd want to change it at all. If you do think your sugar and insulin may be questionable there are other dietary ways to regulate that. Particularly using cinnamon daily.
