How old are you? I never got sore up to about 25.

Or maybe you aren't working very hard?

If you stretch and warm up/down then - great job.

If not you are either mega lucky or not working too hard

I don't get sore often anymore.
I'm in a routine of a good warm up and cool down.
I am working hard as my HRM lets me know and I sweat like a pig! LOL
I used to get very sore and if I have a few days off then I might be the first time back but all in all, if you're working hard and feeling the exercise then feel lucky! :O)

You are lucky! I've found that the better my nutrition is, the less sore I get, so maybe you are just doing everything right. I don't get sore often just after I have pushed myself extra hard.
  • Good question. I always wonder the same because I don't get sore anymore either...even when I push the limits and up the weights and intensity. It was explained to me that if you do your exercise with proper form and do a good warm up and cool down, that you won't get sore. I sometimes worry that I'm not doing enough. Will be great to see what responses this question gets.

Maybe your a mutant? You are down wind from Watts Bar, you know....

Or it could be delayed onset muscle soreness.

You aren't using the pink dumbells, are you?

Seriously, how long is it between your work outs? Some times I feel nothing for two or three days, then BAM!

If you are a beginner and you aren't sore, then you aren't working hard enough--even with warm up, cool down, and stretching. If you've been exercising for a while and you aren't sore but are pushing yourself to your max when lifting, then you've probably reached your genetic max for muscle growth. This takes a long time to achieve though, so I would bet you just aren't working hard enough.

I don't get stiff from weights. It's the running that does it for me. After 6km I don't feel it, but after 10 I do. It's probably that you aren't doing that much.

You might need to vary your routine. If you've done the same thing with the same weight over-and-over, there's nothing left to be gained and thus your muscles have adapted. Try tabata-style weight lifting, or High intensity interval training if you haven't already. Jump lunges especially have made me sore for days when I thought I was in great physical condition.

I would add a longer cardio only session per week, an hour or so of running or rowing or cycling. You are doing enough weights as it is.

maybe a change in your workout will do it. i know thats when i get sore even if i stretch when i do something new or more intense im hurting but in a good way. like now started p90x yesterday and definately feeling it. i hadnt felt sore in a while previously i think just bc my body was in a comfort zone.
