I haven't started it yet! I have had it for two months now, I really want to start it but I don't plan on eating the exact same food that they say. If I stick to a well balanced healthy diet and do the exercises will that be ok??? Has anyone else been in the same boat? Thanks for reading

i use my p90x for alot of my workouts. i dont eat the stuff in the book cuz lets face it, thats really time consuming and some of the ingredients cost more than my budget will allow. but i eat balanced and healthy already so i think its fine0

im starting 2moro, and im just eating what i have been since using MFP, good luck0

Exact same boat. I have had it for nine weeks and done a couple days a couple times. Until this past week, I have been out of town 25 out of the past 7 weeks. When I got it, I knew I was gone for a while, but found it cheap on craigslist.
Anyway, I am going to simply follow the amount of protein, carbs and fat guidelines. I am not going to use their exact diet, that is too much work. If I had to do that, I would never start. Hope to start this next week.
Good luck.0 -
The nutrition plan is really just a guideline, especially if you are already fairly adept at knowing how to eat clean. The key though is how many calories you are eating, which is easier to do here. Make sure you are eating enough to support such an intense workout.0

If you signed up and did some aerobics classes at the gym and they told you if you didn't eat what they told you to then it wouldn't work would you believe them?!
No, stick to what you know, what you are comfortable with, and what you know works for you. Remember P90X isn't a magical secret, it's still a workout.
Give it a try and eat your balanced meals. If that works for you then it works for you. P90X wasn't designed with your specific needs in mind, it's very generalized.0 -
I'm in week 6. I don't follow the diet. I just use MFP to track my calories and try to eat healthy as often as possible. If you are trying to loose weight and you normally workout you may need to add in additional cardio. I know I need to. Good luck.0

I just finished my 90 days and am about to start another round to get rid of the last few pounds that I need to drop.
I didn't follow their eating plan either. I just stuck with a well balanced healthy diet and a multivitamin and I got great results.
This has to be a life style change so in the long run you'll be better off making your own diet that you can live with instead of trying to live with a list of foods that you probably won't eat again once you finish P90X.
Once you get through with your first 90 days, you'll feel great! Just stick with it and don't give up. It's worth it!0 -
I just finished. Did not follow eating plan at all. Lost maybe 8 lbs not sure but boy does my body good different went from a to big 12 pants to a perfect 6. my husband just asked me (47) if I was going to wear a 2 pcs to the beach this year. Just do it work hard and lift heavy and you will be amazed0

Why don't you want to eat the food they recommend?0

I am at the end of Week 2 (Lean) and have not been following their food plan. I have been logging my food here for almost 1 year and most days feel like I have a handle on it. I did go the site and sign up for a coach - nice to have someone to ask my questions there. I did increase my protein and feel better now. Have fun!0

i meant to quote this for my above comment lol0 -
I got better results not following the Nutrition Plan. I used it for a while, and it just really didn't work for me. I didn't like it much either, so I was more than happy to do it my way.0

Oh, I just read someone's comment about cardio.....I know I need the extra cardio, so I ride my bike for 30 minutes before the workout, then skip his warmup, but start with the stretching. It is what I need to get the burn, and I need the burn every day to lose.0

I just finished the program and only did the exercize. I tried to follow the suggestions for the carb/fat/protein ratio but mostly just stuck to doing mfp.
I got good results (I will be posting pics and info later today)0 -
I am a picky eater and don't have the budget for the exact foods they are saying to eat. I have weird work schedules so its hard for me to start. I plan on starting tomorrow and my boyfriend will be doing it all with me. I will post a before pic as well
Thanks everyone for the support!!0 -

Its going pretty well. I lost 5lbs and I feel more toned up. 5 pounds isn't a lot but I only had 10 to loose so 5 more to go. I follow it pretty well. I do the 3 weight videos they require in a week, not exactly on the correct day but its all done by Sunday. As for Kenpo I think its way too easy so I go to kickboxing at my gym instead its way more intense. I hate the yoga- did it a few times- so I do Pilates at the gym instead. I always do plyometrics. Love that one- it burns a lot. So I follow it pretty closely. Before p90x I worked out 5 days a week so I can't only do P90x I have to add in more cardio whenever I can find time. That is really the touch part for me. I'm gonna finish it because I said I would and I like to finish things I start. I'm not gonna do it again but maybe once and a while I'll do the weight videos. It is definitely good for toning up. Good luck and you are not being nosy if you have any other questions just ask.0
