I've always felt like a failure.

I usually try to diet with other people because it sucks dieting on my own. However, the people I diet with usually get ahead of me and I try so desperately to catch up. I love food and I love to eat so most of the time, I don't have the will power most people do. I'm usually the one who still hasn't lost the weight. I'd see success stories about how someone lost 100 lbs and I wish that was me. I haven't lost more than 20 lbs in my whole life (and I quickly gained it back, might I add). I end up losing motivation. I start doubting myself. Am I the only one on this boat?

no maam. You just have to keep your head up. We all are dfferent & our bodies respond differently.0

and that's why i'm dieting on my own! so i don't have to compare myself to anyone else. i've given up so many frickin times and every time i do, i just get really depressed afterwards. so i figured if i just keep going this time i won't feel so sad, eh? esp. with the potential weight loss after all hard efforts? you can do it.0

Awww....do it with us! We are so not judgemental and we are here to encourage. Plus logging food and exercise is addicting.....Everytime I log food, I want to log exercise, but in order to do that I need to get my butt moving! Best of luck to you, and looking forward to hearing about your success!0

Me too.
I am a failure in most parts of my life, if not all of them lol.
i have a fantastic boyfriend but that's about it. and i have to wait til i can figure out my life to actually live with him so it sucks and sometimes that alone makes me want to just eat everything in sight. because whats the point? ya know?
Lately i've had this mindset of maybe my weight is the only thing i might have control over... mostly my friends that start dieting or working out give up soon after and it messes me up when i'm trying to do it w them.
take things into your own hands like i had to.
for me, I found that greek yogurt, fruit, healthy choice meals, special k stuff and switching to coconut milk for my cereal instead of regular milk ...and luna bars mmmm has helped me.
I feel like i can still eat everything i like but... sometimes you have to find a replacement something that you love.
I think you can do it .. if i've had some success anyone can . lol i'm pretty excellent at failing at every aspect possible in life.
hang in there you. we can diet together... I wont give up. :smokin:0 -
Thank you guys for all of your support. I have to change my mind set and look at weight loss at a totally different perspective. I'm sure I can do this.0

The same thing has happened to me. Either my friends gave up and I give up with them or they already reached their destination and I'm stuck going through this alone. I'm starting to find other solutions. Like, my new favorite snacks are Wheat Thins. I am eating smaller portions than I used to. I LOVE strawberries. I eat Special K cereal without sugar (I really have to cut down on my sugar intake).
I won't give up either.0 -
ya know... four strawberries medium sized are only about 30 calories ... i really like them w yogurt or chobani... i used to eat wheat thins a lot but when i started counting calories i realized that ya. I switched over to the multigrain special k crackers OMG they are DELICIOUS. and they taste AWESOME w the sabra roasted red pepper hummus that i love so much mmmmm
try them ... if you already like the cereal... they have lots of low calorie tasty alternatives0 -
No, absolutely NOT!!!!! I know exactly what you are talking about! It looks like you are doing great! Keep up the good work!!! When you have a bad day, just put that behind you and look forward! Sometimes when I mess up and eat something that is bad for me I think well, I've already messed up, I might as well just keep eating! Of course, what I SHOULD do is think, ok that was bad but right this MINUTE, not tomorrow, not next Monday, I will start over. That has really helped me. What is past is past. This moment I will start doing it right!
Keep up the good work!!!!0
