Excercises not in the database...

Forgive me for my ignorance, but I'm pretty new to logging my activities... How would I go about figuring calories burned if my activities aren't in the database?
For instance, today I moved/stacked approx 70 hay bales weighing around 50 lbs each.
I also spent time each of the last 2 days mucking horse stalls and walking the horses.
Getting to the gym is hard - it's a 20 minute drive - but there are plenty of workouts like this to be found at home - I just don't know how to log them! Any thoughts? Thanks!

Moving hay bales sounds like strength training to me. Not sure on the mucking horse stalls though.0

if you have a heart rate monitor you can gauge if it is cardio and wether light or mod or heavy, Having moved bales and mucked many a stall in my life I would call it mod cardio ( ie low impact aerobics)- because you rest some in between each burst of energy mucking sort of goes in lawn work raking leaves best guess.0

Just find things that are close/approximate. Everything is general estimates any way. For the hay bales, I would do something like "Moving furniture" or "moving boxes" and for the mucking horse stalls, well is that like shovelling? If so log it under "shovelling snow", if it's washing, log it as "cleaning". Just remember that things are all estimates, so it's not worth your time to get really intense about accuracy. Just generally be in the ballpark and you'll be fine.0

I would count those as gardening. Hay bales are like plant pots and mucking out like digging.0

There's an awesome site that shows you calories burned using your body weight. LiveStrong.com it's a Lance Armstrong site and it's great in many ways.. Try it...0
