So while cooking dinner tonight I've decided that certain tools are getting upgraded.

IF you're shopping for a steamer make sure that at the very least the steamer part doesn't have a hollow handle which will channel the steam directly into your palm giving a scalding.
When preparing food there's nothing quite so satisfying as having the proper knives, I've used for years just steak knives or whatever was around but bought a santoku which I now use to chop just about anything that needs chopped... potatoes, carrots celery etc, and a chef's knife with a good edge for slicing all meat, it does a wondrous job at cutting up a big ham or roast into serving pieces with very little effort.
There's others I meant to put down... oh yes... glass bake-ware, I've never had any metal or silicone bake-ware come clean as easily as the glass stuff does.
Now excuse me, dinner is ready!
