Running shoes?

I bought the Reebok tone ups for walking and now I need to find running shoes. Honestly, I do not have time to go to a store thats specialty is in running shoes (I could find time I am sure but it is just more convenient for me to not) but I would like to just find some online and purchase them. I am not a hardcore runner I just am starting out (if that matters?). Any advice would help. Thanks ahead of time!

just find out if you have a high, medium or no arch...you just want to make sure you have good arch support if you have high arches...and if your feet roll inward at all, you want to make sure you get something with motion control/stability! i know these things because i went to a specialty store and got fitted today! :)

I've actually had a few friends recently recommend the K-Swiss Tubes. They're $75 (saw them on sale for $65 at ****'s Sporting goods last weekend), and you can also customize your own pair onilne for $100. So, relatively affordable. That said, I have a great pair of New Balance running shoes with no further information because I bought them on clearance at TJ Maxx for $25 :)

I've just started out too. I have the Reebok Runtones and love them. The only problem is that I've only had them for about 4 months and haven't used them that intensely (walking to and from work, doing exercise DVDs, and like a grand total of 200 minutes of jogging) and they're already starting to fall apart. They're great shoes but I wish they lasted a little better...

Ok, so I just noticed that even though I typed in a specific sporting goods store name, it sort of bleeped it out. I guess b/c the word could be used in a perverse way, lol. So if you're not sure, it starts with D and ends with ick's Sporting Goods.

It will be well worth your time to at least stop in and get fitted for the proper shoe since you're just starting out. Not having the proper shoe for running can cause injury and that's just no fun.

I have the KSwiss Tubes and LOVE them!!!! Granted, I don't do much running, but I walk a lot and I can barely even tell they are on my feet! Highly recommend them!!

I could not agree more. If you are new to running, you want to make sure you start out on the right foot (no pun intended). First impressions are lasting ones and if your first impression of running is negative because of the wrong kind of shoes, you are more likely to give up running for good before ever really getting started. Good luck to you.

It's well worth your time to get fitted at a specialty store. They can video you running and look at your old shoes for spots of wear, etc. Worth it! And now that I found my dream shoe I can order online next time. Just do it and your feet, shins, knees and hips will thank you! :flowerforyou:

I recommend taking the time and visiting the specialty store. Your feet, ankles, shins, knees, legs and mind will thank you later.

endless.com has a pretty decent running shoe finder. If you go to athletic shoes, it should be in the ad bar above the shoes.
