Been using the app for two days now and I've stayed under the goal calories so far. I'm a former Marine, missing my old body. I'm hoping to lose 50-60 lbs. Crossing my fingers and buckling down ought to do it. Anyway hello, looking forward to this voyage.

I decided to add more info. An obstacle I see in my path already is that I'm pulling single dad duty to an 11 year old girl who loves a weekly trip to a fast food joint. I am dedicated to looking good by my 20th year hs reunion this year. I'd also like to be the example to my kids that I know I can be.0

I have no idea what it is like being a single parent (I have a dog and he has two choices for food: kibble or kibble), but you and your kids can make healthier choices even at fast food joints (grilled chicken instead of nuggets, milk instead of soda). Always look at the menu and nutrition facts before you leave the house and decide what you are going to have before you get to the restaurant and the smell of salty french fries comes wafting towards you - you are much less likely to waver if you know what those fries will do to your numbers. I find that logging my calories before I eat them really makes me think twice before ordering a cheeseburger and fries every time. Also, I have found that logging my meals for the entire day in the morning or the night before is wonderful: I've laid out my entire plan and can make changes if they don't add up right, and I spend a lot less time staring at the cupboards wondering what I want to have for supper at eight o'clock at night.
