Pescetarian for a week

I want to try a pescetarian diet* for the next week for the sake of transitioning into eating healthy and "clean" foods. I've lost 124 pounds by staying in my calorie goals, but not by eating healthier.... I associate beef, chicken, ham, turkey, etc. with cheese-filled, bread-based meals. When I think of fish, I think of whole grain rice and steamed broccoli. Lol.
How many times should I eat seafood a week? I think I might get sick of it if I have it everyday. I'm open to vegetarian meals too. So, should I eat fish 3-4 times this week and the rest of my meals be vegetarian? Suggestions please!

I eat pescatarian. I don't care about vegetarian "beliefs", as you called them; I simply don't like the taste of 'turf' meat. I love 'surf' though!
For lunch, I eat tilapia with pasta & veggies. (It's a Lean Cuisine, I must admit.) I love tuna melts (open faced, half the bread that way). Fish fillets are pretty tasty. Shrimp.... scallops.... oh *drool* scallops.
Recently, my family did a Japanese dinner, with stir fried shrimp and scallops over cous cous and stir fried veggies. It was amazing.
Clam chowder. YUM.

That's awesome, I mainly eat a Pescatarian diet, but every once in awhile I'll have chicken or turkey as well.
I'd never get sick of fish-- there are so many different varieties that you can prepare in so many ways. My favorites are Ahi tuna, shrimp, tilapia, and halibut.
Don't forget about the canned stuff too-- you can easily take a can of albacore tuna, mix it with plain non fat greek yogurt, lemon juice, salt and pepper and celery and it's a easy and healthy Tuna Salad for wraps or sandwiches or over a salad or whatever.
I also love using canned salad for salmon cakes/ burgers: basically the same as above, but add an egg white and some scallions and chopped red pepper, and then form it into a patty. Sear in a pan for a few minutes.
Fish is definitely safe to eat all week, provided you limit the varieties that are high in mercury. I've never had any health issues eating fish 10-12x a week (lunch and dinner), so you should be fine!0 -

maybe you would like a large variety...so you could have a "Seafood of the Day"..and switch it up each day!0 -
There are a lot of factors that go into how much fish you should eat per week. I would consult your doctor. Mine doesn't want me eating more than 6 oz per week but again, that's just for me for my unique health situation so I would consult your doctor or a nutritionist who knows you well and they can best tell you how much fish/seafood to eat per week.0

I'm technically a pescetarian, but eat vegetarian 95% of the time. When I do eat fish, I tend to like non-fishy tasting fish like salmon or halibut. I like scallops, but I've never been too successful making them myself. I used to eat shrimp and tiliapia, but I tend to stay away from them now.
Just out of curiousity, what exactly do you think "vegetarian beliefs" are?0 -
124 pounds??? I should be asking YOU for advice! Good luck in your new eating plan. I think that as long as you limit high mercury types of fish you should be ok. Good going!0

Sure, why not. Eat fish 3 days a week. Try different kinds of fish at each meal too, like Salmon, tilapia, cod, sole, basa, pollock, etc.
The rest of your main meals try eating a variety of cooked beans and lentils. You can find lots of recipes online.
Eat lots of vegetables. I find it so ironic the number of people who claim to be vegetarians who DON'T eat vegetables. Very funny.
Try out some tofu dishes (marinade the tofu first as it is tasteless and takes on the flavor of whatever you cook it in).
Ditch your typical breads and eat whole grains instead like millet, amaranth, spelt, rye, wheat, bulgur, groats, quinoa, etc. Lots of great whole grains out their to choose from.
Eat brown, wild and brown basmati rice.
Forgo all packaged foods and opt to make everything from scratch.

Thanks.I love fish, so maybe I won't get sick of it in just a week. I was really just concerned about eating it so many times a week. I've been doing some reading, and most of the websites I've looked at mention that you should only eat fish 3-4 times a week if you're following a pescetarian diet.

Oh gosh.By vegetarian beliefs... I was referring to ethical vegetarians. Guess I kind of made that sound like a religion or something! (And, omg, myfitnesspal is now showing me PETA ads. LOL!) I think it's absolutely natural for humans to eat meat; therefore, I disagree with ethical vegetarians. Sorry.
