So I like to do the P90X core synergetics, Ab Ripper, and Kenpo, but I am a poor college student that cant spend money on a HRM. so I was wondering if I just wanted to use one of the exercises listed on MFP which one would you think would be the best bet to use to get a decent estimate of calories lost?
thank you

Maybe others can give a more informed response, but like you I don't have a HRM, and honestly I don't want one. I just look through the aerobic exercises and find something that seems similar and use it. There are various levels of calisthenics in the exercises at MFP and for my purposes that is adequate. MFP estimates seem kind of high to me so I sometimes pick a lower intensity level to compensate. I also round my minutes down sometimes (an hour and seven minute bike ride becomes a one hour ride.) I’ll check back here to see if anyone posts something more scientific.0

Yo can just create your own and call it p90x kenpo or something. The workouts range from anywhere from 300-700 calories. It all depends on your height, weight and how hard you "Bring It". Before the HRM I used to estimate 80-120 for Abs, 550 for Kenpo and Core S about 500-600.0

Also don't be surprise to go way over 700, on Plyo and Kenpo you can work hard and get into the 900s. Its all about your effort.0
