I eat subway almost every work day (monday through friday). The sandwiches are great, for 2.50 I can have an awesome lunch which is low fat (buying a 5 dollar footlong every other day). Plus they're low cal. However, I was looking at the nutritionals today and all it says is that the nutritional info includes white or wheat bread, meat, and 'veggies.' What is veggies defined as? There are about 18 different veggies that our subway offers. Does that count include all of them? Is it lettuce, tomato, and onion?

Normally I get pickles, jalepeno peppers, lettuce, tomato, and if its a veggie delite sandwich, cucumber, green pepper, and sweet pepper. I know the jalepenos and pickles probably tack on a good bit of salt.

They really should clearly state what veggies includes, because some of us like to load them up with veggies.

If you need to check your calories closer maybe this will help.

I noticed that too. I also noticed that when I looked at all of the nutritional info they had on their all of their veggies, nothing was written down. Everything was zero of everything, calories and all. So I added each individual veggie, bread, and meat and the sandwich ended up being around 500-600 calories, it could have been more. It has been a while since I put each item in but I know I was shocked at how many calories a sandwich had

    From their website:
"Subs with 6 grams of fat or less include wheat bread, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, green peppers and olives. All other sandwich values include cheese unless otherwise noted.

Salads contain meat/poultry, standard vegetables and do not include salad-dressing or croutons.

Addition of other condiments and fixings will alter nutrition values. "

I took that to mean that those veggies listed were included in the calorie count on every sandwich but nothing else was.

I don't know what type of sub you usually get, but this is what it says for the subs that are 6 grams of fat or less

"Subs with 6 grams of fat or less include wheat bread, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, green peppers and olives. All other sandwich values include cheese unless otherwise noted."

I got this information here: http://www.subway.com/applications/NutritionInfo/nutritionlist.aspx?id=sandwich at the very bottom of the page.
