Should I track these things??

Hi, sorry if this has been asked before.

Since I lead a lightly active lifestyle, should I track doing the normal things like errands, or dancing for twenty minutes and stuff? Or is that already under the category of "lightly active"?

Thanks so much!

Oh and if tracking errands is a yes, then what do I put that under? Walking leisurely, or light cardio??

I do not track things that are part of my daily life, like errands. I gained weight while doing them, so I don't think I should count them now as exercise. But if you dance and are breaking a sweat, I would count that.

Can't argue with the logic posted by ouryear002

I would say no, unless its outside of your daily activity. So if you spent 5 hours walking the mall, I think its worth logging, but minor things like the walk to the mailbox, walking the aisles in the grocery store...not so much.

No you shouldn't track activitys of daily living....running errands in already figured into your calorie limit for the day with the lightly active choice. Now the dancing...If you do it most days of the week and don't get your heart rate up then no. How ever if you only do it once in a while and get your heart pumping count it, because thats a great exercise. Hope this helps

I agree. The only time i track things other than intentional exercise is like when i'm at work and have to put a shipment away, that's a lot of heavy lifting and usually more than 30 min

I'd agree with the previous posters. I guide myself by only tracking exercise time (whatever the exercise) outside of normal daily routines.
