Has anyone tried this? I want to get one but I'm wondering if I should just get a heart rate monitor watch instead? Also I've heard that there is a way to get a heart rate monitor sensor and use this with the Nike sensor, is this true? I don't really run so would this still be a good idea for me or not? Will it calculate calories burned and such on a cardio workout or is it just made for runners? Any advice would help! THANKS!

I use nike + and love it. I don't like the having a band on, so don't want a HRM.

I love my nike+ it's a great way to track mileage and time. I also wear a HRM. I don't think the calories burned are accurate as I live in a pretty hilly town and it doesn't know if you're going up hill, flat or downhill.

But's it awesome for telling me how far and adv. pace per mile...

I actually just posted this topic last week. I have a Polar FT4 HRM and I purchased it long before I got the Nike+ shoes...Polar does offer the chest strap with the Nike+, but you have to order it separately and it is like $65. I ended up going with the Nike+ sports band. It calculates your distance, cals, pace etc. So far, I really like it. It's also better than using the iPod because you don't need the transmitter thingy either.

I have used it over the past 3 years.... it has it's strengths and weaknesses same as all electronics! Weeknesses is it needs to be recalibrated all the time. Which isn't that bad, but your pace has to be almost PERFECT to get it to be set right. I was using one to track my pace for a half marathon, and during the flight my sensor must have reset, and it was COMPLETELY OFF! Plus the calibration mode doesn't track on the website for challenges.
The Challenges however are very motivating! and now they have the chase function which is fun.
Good luck with your decision. I have a bodybugg that I want to sell to get a HRM. No sense in having both!
