hey guys!
this is not a question, but still, something im thinking about.
We all know you're supposed to eat your exercise calories and it would actually make you lose weight as opposed to not eating your exercise calories which can put your body in starvation mode.
now the thing is I just can't do it lol! simple as that there's like something psychologically wrong with me that I feel if I eat more than I'm doing all of this for nothing and if I eat more than it sometimes starts the hill rolling and I can't stop.. I have very bad overeating problems so I guess people like me think in black-or-white terms. anyone share the same problem?

try to change the way you're thinking about it. it's not "eating back your exercise calories" it's "hitting your daily goal of calories"0

I love food, to look at it, to smell it, to make it and omg eat it. Sometimes i feel out of control and just eat seemly never being satisfied and I hate it. I try to control it every day. I really hate it.0

When I first started with MFP over a month ago, I was losing weight eating about 1200 to 1300 a day then I read all the message boards about eating exercise calories so I started doing it and have not lost a pound in more then 2 weeks. I normally burn anywhere from 500 to 1000 calories a day on exercise. So I decided to go back to eating 1200-1300 today and am going to test it out for myself. As much exercise I do I feel like it's a big waste because the past couple weeks I haven't lost a single ounce. :sad:0

I Agree with CC. Also, one thing to try is ease into it gradually. Just eat 100 cals or 25% of them for a couple of weeks and see what happens. Most likely, you won't notice any change in your loss rate or perhaps a short plateau. This would be normal. Then, add some more.0

It's very possible you are in starvation mode, in which case a temporary gain or holding steady is normal and to be expected. You have to give the body time to adjust to big changes like that. You might benefit from reading these threads.

I'm with you. I can't eat back my exercise calories, unless I 'binge'. That's the way I feel. I'm losing steadily by eating around 1200-1300 a day. If I ate them back, why exercise? a weight trainer at my gym told me, that working out won't make you lose weight, you have to really change your diet. I believe her.0

Two weeks is not enough time to see a significant loss. Any loss of 5lbs or less can be masked by water weight or muscle gain.0 -

Calories in have to be less than calories out, period. If you have too little coming in, you'll stop losing, then you'll start losing again and also start having an eating disorder. It's not pretty, but there it is.0 -

Thanks so much for the information. I know I need to have more patience with my weight loss. I did feel quite hungry yesterday so I ended up eating more calories. Same today my body is telling me that it's hungry. I love to workout but don't love the fact that I need to eat so much plus trying not to fill the calories with junk. It's all around very hard to lose weight. When I get to my goal I will never let myself get over weight again. It is just to much  .0
