Okay, so I know sugar is bad for you but isn't artificial sugar worse? I need something in my morning coffee and they say honey has no nutritional value in it. I've tried Agave Nectar from the Natural Food store but it isn't the same....any advice?

Stevia or truvia is the best to get. Nothing artificial and all natural organic honey. You can get stevia or truvia from almost any grocery store, but it is sweeter than reg sugar, so you should use about half as much as regular sugar.

There's nothing wrong with nutrasweet (aspartame) or splenda (sucralose). Unless you have a rare condition called phenylketonuria, nutrasweet is safe. I use sucralose for most things that I sweeten on my own, but most soft drinks I like have aspartame.

These two "artificial" sweeteners are the subject of intense conspiracy theories and a boatload of junk science. I'm sure I'm going to get flamed for saying this and don't care to get into arguments about it, so I'm going to ignore follow-up on this thread. You can read about it at Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aspartame_controversy), Snopes (http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/aspartame.asp), and WebMD (http://women.webmd.com/features/truth-on-artificial-sweeteners).

I've tried stevia but my wife and I didn't care for the aftertaste.

The stevia aftertaste seems to be completely subjective. I've never experienced it myself using Stevia in the Raw but others can't stand the stuff.
