Maintenance week?

I'm at a little plateau, and have been for a couple weeks now. I'm trying a few things to switch up my routine, hoping to get back to losing weight. But I'm wondering if anyone else has heard / read about doing a maintenance week every so often... A friend of mine was talking about doing a maintenance week every 3 months and then being able to lose more weight the week after that. I thought I might give it a shot, but I want to get through this week doing my few little tweaks first to see if it works.

Make sens. For me in order to get off a plateau, I need to eat 2000 cals for 2 or 3 days. It probably has the same affect.

I'm not sure if this is the same thing but I've heard of having a sort of 'cheat day' where u eat basically what you want, then go right back to counting calories the next day. The theory behind it is that it revs up your metabolism a bit by giving your body more calories than its used to. I'm not sure if it works but who knows.....

Hmmm... yeah, we'll see how this week goes, with the tweaks I'm making. Then, I'll think about maybe doing a maintenance week next week. The funny thing is that I thought I pigged out yesterday, and the scale seems to have gone down 2 lbs!
