I had been doing really well with the calorie counting. I had lost 14 pounds which I was very happy with. Seems like over night my weight jumped back up and now I have only lost 8 pounds. I have 100 pounds to go, so I am really concerned about the jump backwards. I have only been doing this for a few weeks so you guys that have been doing this a while can you tell me if this normal? I have been really watching what I eat and I am exercising on my stationary bike, I am at a loss as to where and why the fat found me. lol.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch

Are you sure your not just gaining muscle?

    Muscle weighs more than fat.

But that still seems like an awful lot.

Have you taken any measurements? Are you still losing inches?

It could be a lot of water weight as well.. Especially this time of year. I know I tend to forget to drink enough and end up retaining water..sometimes quite a few pounds! Just make sure you are hydrated and do what you're doing! Keep up the good work!
  • Don't be discouraged....if your exercising alot....I was told muscle weighs more than fat....you could be replacing fat with muscle tone from the exercising which is definitely a good thing. Hang in there, I know it's frustrating, I've not lost one pound this week either, but I've been walking more and doing water exercises more, so I'm attributing it to the muscle gain.

    Keep up the good work...

remember,,, you're weight can fluctuate alot ( like 5 pounds) depending on if you're retaining water, if you're bloated ect.... i wouldnt worry too much about it,just weigh yourself again in a week and you may be pleasantly surprised!!!:flowerforyou:
  • Thanks for all the encouragement! I am drinking water, alot of water. Is is possible to drink too much water? I usually get 12-14 cups a day. I have noticed that I have felt better the last couple of days. I have been able to get a few extra minuted in on the exercise bike. I am not going to weight for a week. ( I am bad for weighing too often) I am sooooo thankful I have this MFP and all you guys for support. I know I will reach my goal, but it will be a battle!

My kids always sing this song to me from "Yo Gabba Gabba" "keep trying don't give up, keep trying don't give up!" LOL! Hopefully that will give you a boost! I was told in the beginning to be aware of that and that it can happen but keep going!
