Water = Worst Enemy (HELP)

Anything with water counts as water. However, just because it's water based doesn't mean it's going to do as good of job hydrating you and your body parts as plain water does. Things with loads of sugar are going to remove water from your system.
An article I read listed water based drinks according to the good/harm they do.
#1 water (duh) - only good
#2 decaf teas and coffee (NO sugar added) - mosty good but watch close for added sugars and caffeine
#3 sports drinks - in moderation, too much salt in these can throw you out of wack
#4 fruit and veggie juice- in moderation, loads of calories in them
#5 sodas and punches and fruit drinks that are not 100% juice- any water content in them is erased by the massive sugar and salt content.
I'm not sure about an acid thing affecting water intake but not anything else water based. Did the DR tell you the name of the disorder?
Decaf iced tea without any sweetner could be a good option for you..0 -
When I first started trying to drink more water and cutting out sodas I used True Lemon. It is just crystallized lemon no sweetner. You can get it in packets or in a shaker type bottle. I got the shaker and just keep it on my desk at work. I don't use it as often now but still nice to add some flavor now and then. They also have lime, orange and even some drink mixes now.

Thanks! I have some great ideas. Another issue, I have is "being thirsty"....I often find myself at lunch time only having consumed 8 ozs of fluid....I am trying to focus on this, too!0

Where do you find MIO? I haven't been able to find it yet.
Walmart has it on an end cap.
As to water even when I was in the usmc, exercising 3 days a week vigorously in the desert I never drank 8 - 8 oz glasses of water, I drank some water and some juice but never that much liquid. Ok, that's not all true, sometimes our Sergeants would force a couple canteens down our throats.0 -
i use the crystal light add-ins & love them. They're only 5-10 calories per packet, and I usually add it to 20 oz of water. I make sure that no less than half of my water intake is pure water, though.0

If you want to stay as close to natural water as possible while adding some flavor, stevia is the way to go. It's a safe sugar alternative, derived from a plant and has zero calories. I use it in liquid form and it comes in all sorts of flavors. Just add two drops to any 8oz. glass and you have lightly sweetened and flavored water! It comes in many forms (some have been processed and refined just like regular sugar, so watch for those) I have discovered, but this is what I was talking about:

There are all sorts of flavors, this website seems to have a lot of them:

Here are some FAQs that I discovered that assure that it is safe for human consumption (not like splenda or aspartame found in Crystal Light):

Hope this helps!0 -
You will get used to it. Just wondering, do you drink any other beverage? I used to drink a lot of Diet Coke, but when I am drinking a lot of water I don't crave the pop!0

Try room temp water. I found that I just didn't like it cold, but I can drink it all day long if it's room temp!0

Deff try the Propel zero! I LOVE it! Tastes really good0

Make watermelon your fruit of choice.
this would definately help.
try finding a 0 cal flavoring. Or just make yourself drink the 8 glasses a day. It's not that difficult if you just say you're going to do it.0
