Drinking too much water? I find anymore that i am CONSTANTLY thirsty....
8 glasses of water a day? No, it's more like 12-14 a day AT LEAST.
Idk why i'm so thirsty. I know i've had a horrible problem with dry mouth since i was little but i've never felt the need to drink this much before. The only other thing i drink is 2-3 glasses of coffee first thing in the morning.
Anyone?

  • Probably the coffee is making you dehydrated so cancel out 3 waters for your 3 coffees.. then you are only really drinking 9 glasses of water.

You may want to get checked out for diabetes. Excessive thirst is one symptom.

Yes, too much can be dangerous. But to be in danger you'd need to drink many more than 12-14. You're good
  • I don't mean to alarm you, but I know that excessive thirst is an early warning of diabetes. Or, maybe your just lucky! I have the hardest time wanting to drink water...

Yes it is possible to drink too much water. If you drink too much you essentially cancel out all your sodium and potassium and other vital nutrients in your system which can lead to seizures, heart attack...etc. Caffiene deffinitely will make you thirstier as it acts as a diuretic so be careful with the caffiene. If you are drinking and drinking and you still are thirsty I would try a glass of iced tea (decaf) or some crystal light lemonade for a change. I get the same way and just have to drink something other than water to feel satisfied. I drink carbonated water a couple times a week because of this problem. good luck! :flowerforyou:

Yes, too much water can be dangerous because your kidneys must work overtime to filter excess water out of your circulatory system. I myself always seem to have a hard time drinking the recommended 8 glasses a day. Unless it's with coffee or tea. :)

Yes, def get checked for diabetes!! I remember my Dad was constantly thirsty and had no clue he had diabetes..then he ended up in the hospital with extremely high blood sugar. We never would have thought he had diabetes though. He was in great shape and worked out regularly. Good luck and keep us updated :)
