Way over calories for the day

Was on a tear today for some reason. Went to eat Mexican food tonight, so I know I've probably blown it for the week. I'm usually under or right at my caloies without my workout calories. Today I burned through all my calories plus my workout. Although, I'm not sure it will make that much difference as I haven't been seeing great results anyway with the new high protein diet and my new 5 day a week work out routine.
Do you take a day off from your program for a splurge day?

Oh yeah, I take a day off sometimes once a week. Sometimes I just can't *think* about calories and weight loss any more and I want to live like a "normal" person. So try not to be too hard on yourself about going over. I read an article once that said for someone to gain just a 1/2 pound they would have to consume roughly 4,000 calories or more, and 1/2 pound isn't enough to give up over.
So tomorrow is a new day!0 -
Well, I don't know that I have great advice, but I can tell you what I've been doing I do not take a splurge day (I did take some splurge days for my birthday and my kids' birthdays, but I don't usually take one per week or anything). If it is a food I want, I do my best to try to figure it into my budget, to make sure that I really want it. If I know I'm going out to dinner, I try to be super diligent earlier in the day, or exercise more, things like that. Every once in a while, though, we all just have a day that we say "whoops," and start over again tomorrow, no big deal. One thing you said raised a question though, are you eating your exercise calories back? I'm not a scientist or doctor or anything, but from everything I've read on here, you're supposed to eat them back, to keep your body well fueled. Is this maybe the reason you're not losing well? I usually ear 200-300 per day, eat them (mostly) all back and have been losing 1-2 lbs per week. Good luck and keep at it!0

i wouldn't say i purposely have a splurge day, but i do have bad days where i go over. when i first started they used to get my down a little when i see the amount of calories in red that i had gone over!!
but now i just dust myself off and start again the next day!
life would be quite miserable without the odd splurge0
