Hey guys/gals I am desiring to lower my carbs. and I have found that with many things I manage to make lean (eg. chili, salad, etc.) I like to eat saltine crackers with them. I was hoping that someone might suggest a more carb concious crunchy companion for such meals.

Not that it's a lot of help, but it's a bit lower in Sodium.

Eating Right Whole Wheat Sandwich Slenders. Pop each half in the toaster and vwalla... it's almost a cracker :p

Well since I am gluten free I use rice crackers often when I need that crunch...Crunchmaster rice crackers (I like the sesame and Artisan Cheese) only really good and only 130 calories for like 16 crackers!

For the salads and such you could add a fruit like sliced apples. For the chili, I don't know what to tell you honey child! But actually after looking at the nutrition facts.... The saltines have only like 11 carbs so if you stick with a serving size then I wouldn't substitute anything. Having a piece of bread would be equal to about 25g carbs. So unless you are eating the crackers multiple times a day then I would stick with what you are doing! Love ya!

I'll have to find some of these. That's like three times the serving size of regular saltines. I usually eat around 10 with a meal so that gives me some to spare. Thank you for the suggestion.
