Wanted to try out a way to loose some weight before my sister's wedding in November. Really need to have some motivation though to push me along. Want to loose around 30 lbs and typed in my meals today and was not happy with what it came out saying in 5 weeks I would weigh. Not sure where to start. Any tips or ideas greatly appreciated. Also not sure how well to do with remembering to type in all meals and snacks, any suggestions also?

Congrats on making the commitment! MFP is a great tool and the community is awesome.
I recommend reading the "stickies" at the top of each board to familiarize yourself, there is great info there about how MFP works and some great advice. Also, these threads will help explain how to get started with healthy, realistic goals/deficits.

You may want to find a way to log each meal right after you eat. If necessary, set an alarm to remind you. Also, some people do well with pre-planning meals and entering them the night before, or even for the whole week. If you have a smart phone, you can also use the phone app to log in and keep your diary up to date. Good luck to you!0
