Hello MFP friends!! I've been MIA for a week while I was visiting family and friends in Illinois. I had a WONDERFUL visit, but I missed MFP and all of you!
While I was in IL, I hit up all of my favorite food stops - sometimes twice! I pretty much ate whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted it. My scale is being weird, so I can't tell for sure what I gained. I left at 168.6. Late last night it read 174.6, but I didn't want to believe a 6 lbs gain, so I weighed again this morning at 167.4!?!? I don't believe a 1 pound loss, either, and my third weight after shower was 171 - which I bet is more accurate - 3 lb gain. I think it should come off by the end of the weekend - I ate a lot of salty, fatty food and a few days of 1300 calories and working out and extra water should do the trick.
I got to see loads of old friends. Things - they are a-changin' in my hometown! I turn 25 on Friday and sooo many of our friends from high school and some cousins have already been married and are divorced, or are divorcing. I grew up in a little town of 1500 and too many people thought that town was it for the world, but that changed as they grew up. It's sad to see them unhappy and in the same ruts they were in 8 years ago, but I'm also happy that they're starting to realize there is more to the world than our little hometown.
It was such an ego boost having distant relatives and friends I haven't seen in a long time notice my weight loss! Some of my distant in-laws have only met me once or twice and were asking what my secret is!! And a girl I met at a party last December was at a karaoke bar with me while I was back and goes, "You're Bri, right? You lost weight!" Love it!!!! Anyway, I'm back, and I'm ready to return to my healthier lifestyle. Oh, I GOT A JOB!!! I've been stressing out about it all summer, but I was offered a 2nd grade teaching job at a school not far from my house while I was in IL! It's exactly what I wanted, so thanks to all of you who were pulling for me!
I'm on my way out to the grocery store to stock my fridge and pantry with whole wheats, skim and soy milk, lean meats, and tons of fruits and veggies!!!!
