I'm on week 2 day 1 right now. Up to now i've been putting 300 calories burnt each time, but i'm having doubts whether this is right. Does anyone know how much you burn each session each week exactly?
thank you!
thank you!

It is going to be different from person to person. Invest in a HRM to know what YOU are burning...not what someone else says they are.0

I get my counts off my HRM. There's so many different factors involved I think it would vary too much from person to person...0

You could calculate how many minutes you walk and how many minutes you run and log them separately for a better idea of what you're burning.0

It varies but to help you I burn:
9 calories every 1 minute of running at 9km/h
3 Calories every 1 minute walking at 5.5km/h
I would say 300 is pushing it for week 2 - I'm on week six now and burning 210-250 a session (I'm 54.5kg) but like every else has said, it varies.0 -
My HRM is telling me i burn 300 on week 1 i know i weight quite a bit but it doesnt seem right, I don't know whether its my asthma my body has less oxygen so the heart has to work faster? I don't know not quite sure how to log my runs :S0

I put the amount of time jogging and the amount of time walking and calculates for you.0

Hi! I use the Ease into 5K app to track my progress. I got to WK3 but decided to go back to repeat 1 & 2 then switched it up even more.
On 6/1/13, it showed I went 2 miles, burned 369 cals, for 35 mins. I am 54 yr old female with hypothyroidism and at that time was 274 lbs.
For the past couple of weeks I've just been doing the 20 min interval part (walk 2 mins, "run" 1 min) but I upped my speed on both. When I did this yesterday (I only do 3 days/wk) it showed 1.25 miles, burned 307 calories, 20:48 mins. As of yesterday I weighed 265 lbs.
As my weight goes down, my calories burned slightly goes down too. As I lose weight & progress I will continue to increase my speed. The 20 mins is working great for me. It saves me some time each day which is good because I do this at 5:30 am.
Last week I used my HRM watch, the treadmill reading & the C25K app to compare calories burned and they were all different.
I can't say if this is completely true or not but I was watching a presentation for a home treadmill that you could enter your age, weight, etc & it would calculate your calories burned based on that info. The presenter said most treadmills are programmed to show calories burned for an average person weighing 175 lbs so if you weigh less or more that number may not be accurate. My treadmill is a very low end one that I can't program so it typically shows 150 cals burned for this workout I do. Funny thing about the HRM watch, when I took it off I forgot to turn it off. When I picked it up again it still showed calories being burned! :P
Everybody is different & depending on your weight, intensity, etc your calories burned will not be the same as someone else.0
