Yesterday my lovely husband bought me a big tub of ben and jerrys. ARGH!!! I LOVE Ben and Jerrys. I had a sneaky desert spoon full and hid the rest in the freezer (normally I'd have scoffed half the tub). I dont want to hurt his feelings or seem ungrateful as he was trying to treat me, but ARGH!!! does he think I'm doing this for fun??!

Does anyone else's family just not get it?

DH gets it, but still wants to reward you - one Sunday mine kept fixing 'snacks' of pop tarts. Just occasional brain farts I guess. LoL

Yes, my husband did at first. He'd bring chocolate for my TOM, which he was hoping would ward off mood swings, I think. lol... But, he has gotten better, so don't worry-he will get better if you keep letting him know you are serious. Let him know you also want to look sexy for him as well as feel good about yourself

My family and friends seem to get it just fine. If not, I carefully and kindly explained to them that I want and need their support, and how food I love that is high in calories (or any food for that matter) as a gift to show love or a treat is not helpful or supportive. Try explaining to your DH how you love the thought, but the gift makes you getting healthier much more difficult.

LOL I Love the expression Brain Fart!! It sums it up perfectly!

I wouldnt mind but he bought me the 30 day shred last week! Ah well, sweet man. (He might be more clever than I'm giving him credit for, there's now a whole tub of ice cream in the freezer going begging - he might as well eat it... sneaky sneaky)

My "DBF" bought Ben & Jerry's for me a couple of nights ago. I don't mind having ice cream once in a while. I just scooped out half a cup (serving size), put it in a bowl and ate it. That way it lasts 4 days and is easy to fit into your calorie goals. :)

It took my fiance a long time to "get it"...but finally has. every now and then he'll say "i want a burger" or"i want a chocolate bar" so he plants the thought in my head. It's harder for me to forget about it than it is for him, so I have to walk away lol but I only go home for holidays so those are my "cheat" days, and my family has seen my progress so they don't say anything...bless my fiance's heart, I've been doing this for 7 months now and he's just decided that maybe he should get off his *kitten* and do something too...he bought a pair of runners, that's a start

I felt that way yesterday. I snuck in a little more than half a cup, but hey it's a one time thing. Ben & Jerry's is ridiculously good though so I can't blame you.
