Shredding chicken successfully!

Just thought I'd share cause I have never done it this way and I thought some could find it helpful! I'll use this method as well from now on, much easier!

1. Fill a large pot about two-thirds of the way with water and bring to a boil on the stove.

2. Add raw boneless skinless lean chicken breast and boil until cooked through, about 10 minutes.

3. Drain water and transfer chicken to a bowl. Once cool enough to handle, shred using two forks -- one to hold the chicken in place and the other to scrape across the meat and shred it.

  • Useful tip but could this be done with low sodium chicken broth to add flavor? I know it would probably add a few calories.

    Shredded chicken can be used in SOOOOOO many healthful recipes, thanx for the tip!
