Okay, so, tonight, I went to an awards ceremony. And ended up eating 1400 calories more than I was suppossed to for the WHOLE DAY. I feel horrible, guilty. But it's all the high-calorie foods. Jeez, I keep trying to tell myself it's okay, but I know it's not. I almost feel like quitting sometimes, and I've only been on this for 3 days. How do you guys do it?

I had 4 crappy days from Thanksgiving through Sunday. It's okay to fall off the wagon! It's always there for you to get back up on! Give yourself a break when you go over...even if it is by 1400 calories. You're not going to instantly gain 10 pounds for one bad day. I have been having so much fun finding recipes, calculating my calories, and seeing how much I burn with my exercises. It's like a huge math experiment that I can continue with every day. The days I give in to temptation I know are okay. We're human. Keep at it. The longer you focus, the more of a habit it will become! Have a salad and some green tea, and you'll get yourself back on track again. ;-) Chin up! And remember...you're worth it!!!0

Just take it one day at a time hun. It does get hard, but if you really really really want to do it you will. One bad day wont throw you off completely. It takes more to have the will power to keep going. Remember exercising will help eliminate some of those extra calories. You need to find some support maybe, or maybe someone u live close to, to work on this with. Or find what works for you. Dont give up hun. If I can do it you can. I am a size 22 and I want ot get back to a size 12 again. I have a LONG hard road but im doing it for my health, and my future, and because I want to be thinner for my wedding. IF I can stick to it you can. I have soo many discourageing moments. But I can make it thought. The past few days of working hard tells me. I feel the difference and I feel better. I am here if you want some support. I will even give you my emai laddress if it would be easier for you with the one on one thing.
keep up the work hun! :drinker: :drinker:0 -

I doubt one person here can post that they never did the same thing. Nobody's perfect, so just get right back on track asap!0

Two steps forward and one step back is still .. one step forward, net. The more good days you have, the less important the bad ones are. Let it go fast, and you'll continue forward instead of psyching yourself into a backward slump !0

I'm with Raz, We have all been there, we will all be there again.
There are times when you do have a full cal day. Holidays and holiday parties are some of those times.
What got me once was when I figured out how many cals where in what I THOUGHT was a healthy salad from a place named after a fruit and an insect. It was my full alloted cals for the day!!! :noway: I about fell over.
But I digress, Do not beat yourself up over one day.
Drink your water:drinker: and go for a long walk. Dance to the radio, laugh at life and keep right on going.
It is a brand new day! One more day closer to your goals. A New day to SHINE!

Well, our power was out this morning so we had the excuse to leave early to pick up breakfast... where did we end up, you ask... McDonald's... a Sausage McMuffin with Egg & hash brown later and I have about 900 calories to go for the rest of the day! Ugh!
Razboo is right, we're all guilty of it... Time to put it behind us and move on! I'm going to drink and extra glass of water to try to flush it all out of me, quick!!! HAHAHA

Everybody blows it once in awhile. I think the trick is to only go "half-hog" as someone wisely said here, rather than whole hog. About once every two or three weeks I meet a friend for lunch and we go eat Mexican food- chips, margaritas and all. Its soooo good. I just try to eat half of what I would have in the the old days and maybe not eat the rice or something like that. Even though I have blown my calories for that day, it hasnt affected weight loss. Just try to keep it under control a little, but dont totally deprive yourself either. Keep trying and you will find a mix that works for you...
Dont give up:flowerforyou:0 -

go for a walk.
best advice ever given to me. it works for virtually everything;
when i over eat, it burns off some of the cals.
when im stressed, it clears my mind, heart and soul.
when i want to binge, it gets me away from the fridge, lol...
when i need time to myself...i can get away.
when i need to think, it gives me time and space.
when i need to feel, it gives me privacy to deal with my emotions.
again...go for a walk, it will do you a world of good.0
