Does anyone log Exercise/Calories for shopping? For example say I shopped for 7 hours and most of it was walking. Do you think it would be fair to yourself to log 3.5 hours of walking at 2.0mph? I don't want to be way out on my calories on either side :(

I logged mine! you are walking around and usually end up carrying bags around the mall. I also have an HRM so it helps with how much walking I actually did and how many calories I burned! but I think you're on the right track if yuo don't have a heart rate monitor.
  • I would recommend buying a fitness watch that you can push the start button and it will monitor the calorie burn when you shop. I use this same kind of watch when I am cleaning out and that way I get a more accurate calorie burn.

I don't remember if it was shopping or Great America---anyway, I documented it as walking---leisurely stroll or something like that.
  • i log mine because it is not something i do every day. i log it as non food shopping. http://caloriecount.about.com/ this website has good caloris burning amounts, i copy from there and add them in as my own exercises

I've wondered about that myself.. I also try to walk up the escalator or stairs and kinda speed walk from one store to the next rather than slowly window shop..That's got to burn something extra:)

Yep, sure do! I also log going to the zoo or seaworld. It involves a lot of walking & it's not somethong you do ever day

I don't log anything except for my cardiovascular workouts. I don't even log strength training. I figure the rest of the things I do on a daily basis like walking, shopping, cleaning, etc. are bonus.

I don't since I do tons of other exercize, but if you feel it's something extra and would like to I say go for it!
