Breakfast....when?

I know how important it is to eat breakfast. My question is how soon after waking up should you eat? I mean, if you don't eat your first meal for 3 or more hours after waking, is it still considered breakfast?

As soon as you wake up, so your metabolism starts kicking.0

The sooner the better, but I'd try to eat at least SOMETHING within the first hour after waking up.0

I would go based on when you normally eat lunch. If you eat lunch at 12 then I would shoot for 8. I try to eat every 2 hrs. Breakfast around 8, snack at 10, then lunch at 12. It works for me and keeps me from overeating.0

same here; I never used to be a breakfast eater - I would be up for hours before deciding to grab something. Now within an hour of getting up I have a full breakfast and that is a huge accomplishment for me :-)0

I know there is a reccommended time period, like within an hour of waking, but you have to go by your individual self as well. If I don't work out in the morning, I do generally eat within an hour of waking because I get up insanely late (wake up at 7, hit the road by 7:30, at my desk by 8 and eat breakfast). But if I work out, I am up at 5:30 but don't end up eating until 8:15 ish.....that's probably too long, but I just don't have time to squeeze in breakfast until I get to work, and it's got to be better than not eating at all.0

Not sure if it is accurate, but I've seen a lot of eating breakfast within 30 min to an hour of waking up to fuel your metabolism.
I'd love to hear more information on it though.0 -
Whenever you feel like eating. I wake up at 5:30 and workout but I don't eat until I get to work at 8.0

I'm the odd one. I've never liked eating breakfast. I'm never hungry in the mornings. Ever since I was a child and would get in trouble for lying to my mom about eating breakfast. I tried for a while, eating breakfast, but it wasn't giving me positive results. I'd be starving still by dinner but with fewer calories to play with. So I just have a coffee in the morning, and I'm set.0
