Ever wish people would think before they speak sometimes?
Maybe I'm just cranky right now so overly sensitive, I don't know... but i"m so tired of being treated like a different species because I'm fat! Yes, I'm overweight, I know this, so does everyone else it's not a secret you can see that. But I'm in the 200's not in the 500's here, I'm not turn your head and stare obese or anything like that... I'm tired of being about the only person i know who exercises on a consistent basis and still being one of the heavest and eating pretty much what everyone else seems to be eating, sometimes less. Last night I was out with a friend who eats like there's no tomorrow, yet only weighs about 115, and she says, unwarrented, out of the blue, "well you have quite a bit more weight to loose than your average person, so you should really start only eating 1200 calories a day..." Im about at 1500 now, and not seeing a lot of change even though that should put me at a 2lb weight loss per week without exercise...
Then I saw another friend, and she said an ex-boyfriend dumped her because she was too thin, then proceeds to say, "But you should see the girls he is with now it makes YOU look thin"... I know she didn't mean it... but that is almost like saying to somone... "WOW compared to her YOU could be considered attractive" Not cool.
Thanks for listening to my rant for the day! What are your rants?

I feel like both of those friends were being very insensitive to you. I know it's easier said then done, but try to surround yourself with people who are supportive of your efforts to loose weight and live healthier.
When I first signed on to MFP, it had me at 1500 calories per day. I felt like that was too much. I dropped myself down to 1300. I have been consistently loosing a pound or two a week. I am not always successful, but I also try to get at least 5 servings of fruits or vegetables in a day. I hope this helps.
Please feel free to add me as a friend. I would love to give and receive support.
Good luck and hang in there!

Honey if that's your friends I certainly wouldn't want to meet your enemies.
But I know exactly where you're coming from - my aunt had lost about 84lbsin weight and said to me one day - after I had lost 28lbs - "well you can carry the extra weight because your tall".
I'm 5'6", I had previously weighed 189lbs, this was said when I was down to 161lbs, I went on to loose another 7lbs before joining MFP on Friday and hope to shift another 21lbs.0 -
Thanks for the support ladies0
