If you believe it is wheat (meaning likely gluten) there are a few things you can do: 1) ask your doctor to test you for Celiac Disease. 2) try an elimination diet - remove all wheat/gluten from your diet for a few weeks and see how you feel.

See a GI doctor ASAP. No messing around with this one. You can get cancer from frequent heartburn. No joke. Please...don't be afraid just see a doctor. You system needs to heal. I don't suggest the meds long term but just long enough to let your body heal. :)

when in doubt do what bugs bunny does; "eeehh whats up doc?" ask the docs see what they have to say and it does sound like a food allergy.

It may also be that you are not eating enough and so your stomach acid is regurgitating up into your throat. Try to drink lots of water and make sure you are eating enough. Do you usually have heartburn in general?

You mentioned you thought it was wheat, so this is probably not what it is - but... I have what's called an oral allergy to a lot of raw foods that you would typically eat when trying to eat healthy. Anytime I eat raw carrots or apples, I get really bad heartburn, feel sick to my stomach and my mouth, ears, tongue, throat, etc.. itch and feel very strange. It goes away in about 15 - 30 minutes.

Like someone else said, you might want to eat one thing at a time to single them out and see exactly what causes it...

Try Prevacid!!!!!! I used to have acid reflux as well... but prevacid really, REALLY helped. It will take a few days for the effect to set it, but it is so worth it. You can buy 3 'cycles' which I think is like 14 days, at a time. I took three cycles a few years ago, and haven't had to take any since.

Yes, please do go see your doc a.s.a.p.!

Based on what you've posted about you're symptoms, I'm also thinking food allergy.

I think that antacids and acid reducing meds should only be a temporary fix. There is something causing the heartburn and you need to figure out what it is. There are lots of raw foods that cause people to have acid reflux and gas and different things. For me, they tend to be broccoli or cauliflower and watermelon. I think onions can do it too for some people. The elimination option is a great choice. If it were celiac you would probably be having a way stronger reaction than just hearburn. Google celiac symptoms and check it out. Be careful though and still check with your doctor to rule out any other medical problems that may be causing this!

I would def schedule an apt withthe doc. My friend has celiacs and it was dreadful for her before she wsa diagnosed.
