Cottage Cheese and SODIUM?!?!

I was kinda shocked to find 430 something mg of sodium in my 100 calorie serving of Knudsen cottage cheese.
I buy the Knudsen because it isn't full of artificial crap (like maltitol and preservatives) the way others are. Plus it's the only one of 2 brands available at my market. Anyone know of a brand in their area that is lower on sodium? Or is it just the nature of Cottage Cheese? Thanks

There is a no salt added one that I buy from my grocery store....it only has 60 mg.....it is very bland, but mixing in some fruit really helps...and once you get used to it, it too bad.
It is Giant Eagle brand...not sure if you have that store where you live.0 -
Unfortunately, it's pretty standard for cottage cheese... it sucks! lol
but the casein that's in it makes it too worth it to not eat it before I go to bed..
maybe someone will know of something better...0 -

I mistakenly bought no sodium added cottage cheese once, and to me it was unedible. Had to add some fruit like you said.0 -

Thanks everyone! I'll have to look into some of these. I unfortunately live in BF nowhere by a military base and so my options are very limited. I might have to wait until we move next year... I wonder if I could order something online and have it shipped? lol0

I live in the middle of Alaska in a town with a population around 2000 and we have no salt added cottage cheese in our grocery store, so even in the middle of nowhere, you should be able to find some, it's pretty standard. But like others have posted, it is definitely an acquired taste and best if you are mixing it with something!
