Pasta Questions....please help

So heres the questions: I made spaghetti for dinner, the box said 2oz was a serving size so I measured 2oz of dry pasta and cooked it. When it was cooked it was 4oz. So is the serving size cooked, or dry? Anyone know???? Thanks!

calories for pasta and serviing sizes are meant for when the pasta is dry, because once you add it to the water, it absorbs the water and weighs more.0

Check the box again...usually, it states whether the measurement is for cooked or uncooked. Hope this helps0

Definitely dry.
I cook my pasta super al dente so someone who overcooks theirs to mush will wind up with tons more pasta. Regardless of how thoroughly you cook it, cals are the same.0 -
Measure it dry. 2 oz dry pasta generally equalls 1 cup cook. Alot of food is measured precooked. I always measured my baked potato after cooking when the bag said before cooked. So becareful because I was way over eating there0

Definetly Dry and I always tr to go with a whole wheat pasta.0
