Pretty exciting NSV

So today I was hell bent that my daughter (not quite 2 and a half) and I were going to have a picnic and go for a hike. We were going to go to Armstrong Woods and then decided to go to a local park that has some pretty decent trails. The last time I tried to walk any of those trails I was 8 months pregnant and BARELY made it to the trail head from the car! YIKES!! Well today we hiked around the small lake (45 minutes in) and my daughter kept telling me she wanted to go more and I felt awesome so we kept on going... wellll we got lost. And kept hiking and hiking and the trails keps getting more and more hill-y and then the inevitable happened. "Caaarrryyyy me Mammaaaaaa!!!" (70 minutes in). My daughter isn't little... she is 37" tall and 34 lbs so I just looked at her with sweat beading down my forehead and said "Really?!?!" of course she was insistant that yes she needed to be carried. Sooooo I hefted her over my shoulder like a sack of potatoes and kept on keepin' on. We then found ourselves next to a good sized dam and upon trying to make her get down and walk I realized that she had fallen asleep... soooo I kept on going. By the time we got back to the car we can been hiking for 110 minutes. Just barely short of 2 hours and had been carrying the sleeping beauty for a little under 45 minutes.
On the way back to the car I was beaming because there were a lot of people returning from the hike around the small lake pooped and huffing and puffing and here I was going strong. The whole outting was full of NSVs so I just say today as a whole was a pretty exciting day for me.
