I saw a segement on Good Morning America this morning about a 17 Day Diet has anyone tried this??

  • Never heard of it but always be leery of anything that promises rapid weight loss. Research proves that healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week.

    From what I understand, it's not really 17 days - thats just the first segment. You lose the most weight in the first 17 days because it's a cleansing plan that releases a lot of water weight. You don't actually lose 10 lbs of fat during that time.

    I bought the book and tried it! I actually gained weight on it! I think it is meant for people who haven't been eating healthy and have alot of weight to lose! I have already lost 70+ pounds in the last 2 years, and been eating healthy. I wasn't eating enough calories on this plan and there are no starches for the first 17 days, so I was pretty cranky by the time I quit (about day 15 and up 4 pounds!) I know other people that are doing it and having great success with it too!
