Hello All. This is my 1st week getting back on track to a new me. I feel great other than having headaches. I think my body is adjusting. My calorie intake when I started last year was 1250 but I wasn't working out and worked a desk job. I changed my calorie intake yesterday because I've been going to Zumba.

I want to find out what my correct calorie intake should be in order to lose weight. I currently weigh 268 pounds and I am 5'4". My daily calorie intake is set for 1500 calories a day and I plan on going to Zumba 3 to 4 times per week. My first goal is to get under 200 pounds. Any tips or information would be greatly appreciate.

  • when you go to your settings it will ask you how many pounds a week you want to lose, recommending you choose 1lb a week. it also asks you how active you are, you can adjust that as you see fit. it will then adjust your recommended calorie intake for you.

1500 net cals sound very reasonable to me. That means you adjust how much you eat depending on how much you workout. That means you eat back your exercise cals. When you enter your exercise, MFP will adjust your 'goal' calories for you so that your net (total) is 1500. My net cals are also set at 1500 and I'm closer to my goal than you are, but still losing about 1/2 pound a week-- so I would think you'd be losing more than I am losing now per week.
