Before I ask my question, I would like to say that I know you cant specifically lose weight from targeted areas of your body nor can you change your basic body shape. I am pear-shaped & actually dont mind having curves BUT I would like to tone them up more & shift a couple of inches off my hips & thighs!!
I have a good fitness level & do 2/3 spin sessions, body pump, yoga, general gym & couple of 5k runs a week already (differs slightly week to week) & thanx to MFP my food intake is all ok but just wondered if anyone out there knew of some good specific exercises I could do at home say 1st thing in the morning, that would help tone up & shrink down my legs & bum?
It's frustrating as I am losing weight steadily & have lost an inch or so off my upper body but nothing seems to want to shift off my lower body no matter what I do!!!!!! :ohwell: Am I really destined to be so bottom-heavy for life??!!!
Any advice would be apprieciated.
Thanx in advance!!

A couple of exercises have worked miracles for me:
Plyometric (with a jump) Bosu ball side squats
Two-handed kettlebell swings
Check your form with a trainer or look up videos online.
Also weighted squats and lunges, which will help your running too. Evil suggestion this, but you could make one of your running sessions intervals and/or hills instead of steady-state. Ouch!
Good luck!0 -
Thanx for those suggestions berry (even the evil one!!!) - will look online tonight & see what I can find. Does seem that squats is the way as well just have to work out reps & a little morning routine ;0)0

There are so many different squats and lunges that you can do - with or without weights. I loved the legs and back routine on P90X and made such a difference in the toning of my legs. It also helped with muscle imbalances I'd gotten by just running.
I also like side to side jumps and alternating kicks.0 -
I have had the best results with various squats, lunges, dead lifts and good mornings..they work tons of muscles! My butt has never been this lifted...ever!!! Even when I was in highschool. You can do them with or without weights, I started without but now add weight to everything I do. I also do some running and Turbo Fire, I think the kicks in Turbo Fire have helped some as well.0
