Oatmeal and Peanut Butter-YUCK!

I saw some people on here mention adding peanut butter to their oatmeal. I had never heard of doing that. I eat oatmeal almost every day for breakfast anyway and I LOVE peanut butter. Maybe it's just the kind I use but I tried it this morning and almost got sick it was so gross. I am currently eating the Quaker multi-grain and then used Peter Pan Whipped Creamy. Is there only a certain kind you are supposed to use? Seriously, it even smelled so bad I had to take it out of the room asap. Bleck!

Hahaha...last year a coworker of mine swore by the combo. I love oatmeal and PB separately so I gave it a try. It is DISGUSTING. I used all natural PB (ingredients are peanuts and salt) so I am thinking the combination of flavors just don't work for me.

Interesting- I LOVE PB and oatmeal! I have Trader Joe's quick-cooking steel cut oats and their organic crunchy unsalted PB. Goes fantastic together. Sometimes I even cut up a banana or apple and throw it in there too. :)

  Love it too, perhaps mixing the Pb up more in the oats might help? I also sprinkle a bit of Cinnamon on mine, sometimes add a few raisins (sometimes I cook them in, sometimes not).

Might be the combo simply isn't for everyone?:flowerforyou:

Haha, I use Quaker Oats with Peter Pan Whipped also, but I prefer Skippy Natural. I think it tastes better.

I definitely think this whole oatmeal/pb thing is an aquired taste...my husband thinks it is WAY gross.
