I read a book and listen to my music. Usually I put a magazine or something over the display so i'm not constantly checking for the time and calories burnt

get lost in some up-tempo music. if you're able to read or talk on the phone you are probably not pushing hard enough, and perhaps that is another factor making it so boring.

I have a game on my elliptical (similar to tetris). The control buttons are on the end of the handles. Also, the faster you go, the slower the blocks move. I find it really makes the time go by fast.

Music. I time all of my elliptical routines by songs. On average they're around 3 - 5 minutes long, so 6 songs is about 20 - 30 minutes.

We have an elliptical. That is my best bet/highest calorie burner right now (weather not good!)

I need ideas on what to do while I'm exercising. I get so anxious and just watch the clock. I wish I could have a personal tv on it like at the gym!!! (I did look into the little shelves they sell, but it won't fit our elliptical.

Pretty simple for me...I use my ipod and I read. Time flies because I am not thinking about it. Give it a shot.

I downloaded the entire 8 seasons of LOST.
I ride my bike for 90 minutes every morning.
When my 90 minutes is up I want to keep
watching. I do not allow myself to watch it
unless I am working out.. It works great!!

    LOST has 6 seasons no?
cus if there are 8 i want to see the two seasons i missed NOW.

my thought (similar to this one) was to make yourself a playlist that lasts as long as you want to stay on the machine. hit shuffle so you don't know how many songs you have left.

lol just remember to turn off the repeat unless you wanna end up doing like a double workout before you realize you've heard all these songs twice already!

I like audio books. They keep my mind occupied so I don't watch the time too much.

I listen to a lot of podcasts. They keep me entertained but don't throw my pace off.
  • I can't read~ that's for sure, moving too much!

My husband just put up a small shelf, and today I watched a tv show~ worked out great, since it was the length of my workout
