I am planning on starting the 30 day shread. Do I absolutely need the weights or could I use filled water bottles? Do I NEED to use anything? Thanks a bunch

I've seen people get good results with water bottles. If you want to loose a little weight and tone up, high reps and low weight.

I just finished day 10 of the 30 Day Shred. I use 3 lb. weights w/ it. You could use water bottles I bet. She has you use the weights w/ the exercises throughout the video off and on. It's a tough workout but it does get easier after about day 6. I am nervous about starting level 2...hoping it's not TOO hard!
    Good luck to you!

No way! You can totally do this if I can!! I still need to lose 40+ lbs. It is hard but not impossible to do. The first couple days I thought I would die but you get through it and at least it's only for 20 minutes. There are so many dang jumping jacks!! They sound easy but after so many you are like OH COME ON Jillian!!! :)
Good luck! You CAN do it!!!!

I have about 90 to lose (well 70 now) and think this is good for any fitness level. It's a workout but you do what you can, the key is to keep moving. If you find yourself at point where you need to stop, march in place until you catch your breath then get back in there. You got this!

Yup, the first day is tough, but it gets easier *every* day as you get stronger. Water bottles would be fine cuz it really doesn't take much. I have pretty muscular arms and there weren't very many exercises in the Shred where I felt like using the 8lb weights I have. I bought the Jillian Michaels hand weight set that WalMart was carrying along with the rest of the JM gear. It has a pair of 3, 5 and 8lb handweights and a tray for them all to fit on. They're nice and I think they were only like $20 or so?
