I have blackheads all over my nose. Some are deep set, so pore strips don't really remove as much dirt as I want. Plus, I heard pore strips remove part of your skin and damages it. I'm just wondering, does anybody have natural home remedies that I can make that can remove these blackheads? I'm trying to stay away from damaging chemicals that can hurt my sensitive skin. Please and thank you.

I alternate exfolliation, with regular facial cleanser every other day. Sometimes (like in winter), I don't exfolliate as often because my skin gets dry. This method has done wonders for my husband and I who both used to suffer from acne and blackheads. I use st.ives apricot scrub, and either oil of olay (no soap, no oil) cleanser, or just clearasil for the regular cleanser.

sounds like you need to exfoliate. I use store bought stuff, but I am going to try this home remedy

I "heard" that sugar is a good exfoliater. try to rub (not hard) a small amount of sugar where you are having issues with your cleanser.
    rinse well.

Also, what cleanser are you using? Are you washing your face with just your hands? or are you using a washcloth? Body puffy thing, or some other type of material? I like to use bamboo washcloths from a company called earth therapies. Are you washing your make up off at night? all of these things contribute to healthy skin.

For oily skin, I think the absolute best cleanser in the world is the Serious Skin Care Glycolic Cleanser. I've been using it for years and panic when I run out!

Products with salicylic acid are the best for blackheads. You can either look for those or use an aspirin dissolved in water!

tea tree oil..I love it as a spot treatment...I would put a little on a cotton ball and try using it every other day..it can be drying
I love benzoyl peroxide for blackheads but that doesn't fit your criteria

I tried exfoliating using the St. Ive's Apricot scrub 3x a week, all summer (when my skin is extra oily) but it still doesn't get out my deepset blackheads.

I use the St. Ive's Apricot Scrub as a facial cleanser and St. Ive's moisturizing cocoa butter as a moisturizer. I wash my face with my hands but I wash my hands first. I rarely wear makeup but when I do I use baby oil (or makeup remover if available) to remove my eye makeup and I was my face.

Unless your skin is really dry, you shouldn't use cocoa butter on your face. Its made from vegetable fat, which is an oil. This may be the problem of your blackheads. You might want to switch to something that is non-comodogenic.

If you already have blackheads that you can't combat, have you thought about have a professional facial with extractions? They can get rid of them and then you can start with a fresh, clean slate - and face!

The exfoliation doesn't get rid of old blackheads; it helps to keep new ones from forming. So it's more of a preventative in the blackhead and blemish department than a remedy for exisiting issues.

You should be using a washcloth. It will gently exfoliate your skin a bit with each wash.

I don't know how people use that St. I'ves Apricot Scrub--it just tears up your face something awful! And I have to agree that cocoa butter is far too heavy for most people. And then you use baby oil (mineral oil!) too? My face would be a minefield if I tried that.

I'm in that in-between spot of having oily, blemish-prone skin but also worried about wrinkles because I'm in my 40's. The Olay Regenerist line actually hits that sweet spot very well. I rely much more on Serums than on actual moisturizers, as most moisturizers are too heavy for the oiliness of my skin. The Regenerist serum is perfect. The moisturizer is good too, but I only need it occasionally. They have a night repair cream that I use sometimes in the dead of winter that is also great. None of them make me break out.

For sunscreens (always a tricky propostion if you have oily skin), I like the Neutrogena Dry Touch sunscreens that are just for the face, and the Coppertone Sport for the body (yes, I am oily and can get breakouts on my upper back, shoulders and chest too--lucky me!). these don't make me break out.
