Good Afternoon Blues,
Here's our new board.
What are your goals for the week?
Mine is to keep in touch with the boards and to slowly chip away at my side projects before the summer gets here.

My goals for the week are to exercise 200 minutes and watch my eating. I am also going to try to check in with you all every day! Have a great weekend!0

Hey everybody..Yesterday was relax day, let my legs rest up. Today, decided to try a couch2 5k podcast. I did week2 first lap, and was able to keep up, and did week 3 2nd lap... Felt great. 7.5 kms in 62 mins. Think i"ll be trying week 4 this week to see if that's where I fit in.
Hope everyone's have a great week.
Oh finally after 2 weeks I finally dropped down something AFTER weigh in of course.. LOL
Cheers everyone.0 -
My goals are to check in daily and get at least eight glasses of water A day. We can do this. Let's bring it!0

No exercise for me today. I went to church, went to a high school play, then kept my grandson for a few hours. Now I'm waiting for my high school student to come by and pick up the prom dress that I made her. I am eating pretty healthy today though, aside from the donut that I had at Sunday School. It fits in my calories for the day, though!
Good to hear from you all. Have a great Sunday!0 -
Marking to come back later! Good morning!0

Good morning to all of you! It's nice (but windy as usual) outside and I am stuck inside at work. I have spring fever!
What are your plans for the day? I plan to swim late this afternoon.0 -
We have spring fever around here too. The weather is nice today but tomorrow is supposed to be stormy. I have a feeling that as soon as the weather is nice and we can get away we will be going camping.0

Hey Blues,
The weekend was eventful with being able to go outside and play. Friday night, I went on a walk with a friend that ended up being 2 hours long but it didn't seem like and then Saturday I got to go out and play some soccer. I can't wait for the warm weather to stick around just so I can be active again.
The pool down the street from my house will be becoming an indoor pool and I don't do indoor pools so I have to arrange some beach days this summer. So far we have one weekend booked for camping so that'll be a blast.
Have a great evening Blues.0 -
Our summery weather is gone for today-only a high of high 50s but very cool feeling because it's cloudy and breezy. Oh well - it was 90 sunday so I am not complaining.
Did great yesterday. 80 oz water, under calories and I exercised.
Deb-love the new profile pic very beautiful family.
Ultimate-I love the beach but the water kinda scares me, jelly fish, etc...I go in but not too deep! My son got stung last year 2nd day we were at the beach in less than knee deep water-I didn't return to the ocean, only the pool for the rest of the week.
Tam-hope your back is feeling some better.
Hi Peter, Mary, everyone else!!0 -
Hey Everybody..
Chrissy, nice to see you, and remember, drink that water. drink drink drink.
Today was nicer weather here again, and can't get myself to workout inside when it's nice. So I went jogging again. I know I should (or I heard) give your legs a break, but shrug, if they feel ok I've been going back to back to back days.
Today I used Podcst for c25K - week 3 and played it twice - another 8kms done in 61 mins for 950 calorie burn.
Everybody. If it's nice out where you are,
Get out and go for that 10-15 min walk today. If you have more time make it 30 mins.
Have a great day.0 -
Good afternoon! I plan to swim again today. Yesterday when I got home I took the dog for a walk, but today I have a meeting, so probably won't have time for the walk. Still windy, but it is 70 here, so I am happy. Have a great Tuesday, all!0

Hi all...Hope you are all doing well. I'm still hurting. I had an MRI last week that showed a herniated disc at L4-L5. They are planning to do an epidural hopefully this week to relieve some of the pain and get me moving again. I'm going to do the elliptical at the gym and light weights, staying away for high impact activities. I am in a funk that I just can't get out of. I do well on my eating until about lunch time every day lol. Maybe if I can feel better everything else will fall back into place. The scale continues to go up but what should I expect???
My plans are to log my food no matter what it is and do some kind of exercise 3 days this week. Hoping for pretty weather so I can go kayaking. That always lifts my spirits! Talk to y'all soon.0 -
Tammy ~ sending positive vibes your way! :flowerforyou:0

Hi all I haven't been doing very good at checking in have I. I've been in a funk today just tired but I did stock up on fruits and veggies at the store a very good thing! The salad I had with dinner sure hit the spot. I still need to keep up on water. I keep forgetting to drink it and then pay the price. Have a great one! Keep up the great work!0
-
Hey Tammy,
Hope everything gets better real soon.
I looked up on the internet about L4-L5, as I didn't know if it was the higher, or lower back.
Wow, tons of info out there. Seems to be the most common area of problems in the back. Lots of exercises, stretches, and procedures others have had...
Keep up the good spirits. Don't worry about the scale right now. It'll make you possibly stress out for no reason.
Work on getting stronger, logging your food, and in time you can jump back on the scale and make that number go down.
Are there various exercises you can do with the upper body that won't affect your lower back ? how is walking?
Deb,
I take a big water bottle(1L) to work and make sure I fill it up at least twice early in my shift. Not suggesting this, just stating, I have a plan, and that's what I do.
At home, I end up having 2-3 glasses of water sometimes lying around. I fill it up go somewhere and leave it.
So my plan at home is when I go to drink the water. I try to drink 1/2cup to 1 cup or more of water at that time. ie I don't sip it.
Keep making good choices everybody.0 -
A beautiful spring day here in Kansas. I am getting off of work 2 1/2 hours early today (budget cuts), so I am going to pick up my grandson, grab my dog, and I think we will walk to the park so that Jacob can play. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday! Here's to smart choices!0
-
Peter, I have a 30 oz water bottle that if I keep it full and available works well. So I am remembering to keep it with me today. A routine makes every bit of difference, my problem is staying in the routine.
Tammy, Now that I think of it my husbands injury was at l4-5 too. You will love the epidural. When dh had his he walked out feeling great. Once the lidocaine wore off the pain was worse but the steroid started working pretty quick to reduce all the swelling. Then he felt good again. That was four years ago. He has pain on occasion but usually when he does too much so he expects it. Hopefully You will have as much success.0 -
Just posted to my wall/profile.
I'm having a great day today. Feeling good after 8km run yesterday, and P90x workout this morning. I had a nice egg white western omelette with no toast, protein shake for 500 calories.
Then for work I know I will not be hungry tonight.
Hope everyone is doing good today.
Deb, how's that water today?0 -
Good so far 60 oz and counting. I have decided I need to get the sweets out oc the house. They s
Are calling my name! We can do this!0 -
Another nice sunny day here. My arms/shoulders were sore from P90x S & A yesterday, so of course, worked out the legs.
c25kW4 x 2 for 8kms.. - 60 mins. Knocking off some time each time. This is including a 5 min start up.
Passing the good vibes to everyone again today.
Deb, how's that water bottle doing today?
Mary, I know you'll get in a good calorie burn today.
Everyone else, pop in say hi.
Good choices everyone.0 -
I've been bad. I will go fill it up right now! Yesterday I had 90 oz. I was thirsty! Today I am going to shoot for 60 at least.
Keep bringing it Peter! Thanks for checking up on me too.0 -
Hey blues,
Sorry I've been MIA, I've just gotten a bit busy and enjoying the nice weather. Tonight, I'm off to another game of ultimate frisbee. I'm so glad I kept up with it. Even though I've been gaining lately, it has helped me keep my weight somewhat down.
Remember to send me your weigh ins tomorrow. Have a great night all.0 -
Uh oh. Scale time. I am thinking I at least maintained this week. I am having an awful time managing my sugar intake. Anything sugary I eat and eat and eat! I need advice on how to get out of this cycle. I am proud to say I will have my 90 oz of water by tonight. Just a few away. Thanks for being supportive! Happy weigh in thoughts!0
-
I was wondering if you have stuff for a chocolate protein shake/smoothie.
That took care of my sweets.
Any or part of these ingredients.
Chocolate protein powder, soy chocolate milk, 1/2 banana, some strawberries, blue berries. ice cubes.
Taste like a nice milk shake.
Other than other sweets you have in the house, throw them out. But then you have kids. So, you can't throw away the kids treats, only throw away the adult treats.0 -
Just popping in to say hi. I've had a busy day. It got cold and windy here today. Luckily, the tornados have stayed east of us today. I'll try to catch you all tomorrow.0
-
On the subject of weather: ours is nasty today. Wind is blowing at 50-60 mph. It is cold and this morning it was raining/sleeting/snowing. An electrical line had blown down in our yard this morning and it was blowing around sparking and smoking. I had to call 911 and they came and disconnected it. Glad it didn't start a fire while I was sleeping.
Happy Friday to everyone - hope your weigh in was good, and your weekend is great!0 -
It's looking nasty outside but nothing yet.0
-
Well, it's official. We have record setting wind. The National Weather Service has reported wind gusts of 74 mph here. That is as much wind as a hurricane. I am home from work, and refuse to leave for anything tonight!0
-
I hope everything calms down there. No fun at all with those kinds of winds.
I was curious to see where you lived, so I looked up your city Mary.
You could probably say that you live right in the middle of the USA?0
