I currently do not have a heart rate monitor and was wondering if someone could please tell me how many calories Level 1 of the 30 day shred burns. Thanks a bunch!

It's a tricky one as everyone burns calories differently. The amount burned is also significantly affected by the effort you put in as the shred offers two differing workouts.

I think I used to log mine as aerobics??

I would use these calories as a guide only however and try not to overestimate them.

    How are you finding it?

I've got a heart rate monitor and I find it to be inaccurate when doing the shred, not sure if the contact on the chest strap isnt maintained when I lie down to do the ab section.

I too would love to know the answer.

Honestly, it's dependent on each person's level of fitness and effort.

When I'm doing P90X to the point of being ready to puke, I can burn between 700-1000 cals in an hour.

I find my HRM to be fairly accurate and have backed in up by checking pulse and doing the calculations.

You can google for the equation :)

You can log it as circuit training since that's the type of exercise it is. Then it will calculate for you based on your current weight and info.
  • I used aerobics. but when I got my heart rate monitor I found I was only burning 175 to 150..

I log it as circuit training. Since the MFP database has my profile on records, I "assume" that I get the right amount of calories burned.

I do modify the routine because I can't do the jumping and cardio as tought by JM, so you will get a higher amount of calories burned. Just remember that the less you weight the less amount of calories you will burn.
