Hi everyone im new to this. So i went to the gym today and burned 1100 calories! I am allowed to eat 1200 calories a day. I see that it says "calories remaining 2300" so my question is : if i burned 1100 calories i am allowed to eat 2300 instead of 1200 for the day?
Thanks i really appreciate your help!

Correct but obviously with that said do your best to eat them back in a healthy manner with multiple meals throughout the day.

Dang, what did you do in the gym??? I'd love to burn that much!!!
  • Wow thanks! Thats great news!
  • Yes. BUT machines and the mpf database tend to over estimate calories burned during exercise (in my opinion) so I shoot for eating about 2/3 back, or so.
  • hahahaha! Lets go to the gym together! :-)
    --1hr treadmill
    --45 elliptical
    --30 mins strength

Yes you should eat most of your exersise calories back. I didn't to begin with because i thought i was defeating the object of exersise and my weight loss was really slow but since reading a really good article on MFP i started eating those burned calories and the weight started coming off again. So when you have a day with lots of exersise, treat yourself but try and stay in the foods that are healthy. Good luck.
