So there is a listing for almost EVERYTHING you can do - including ridiculous things like sitting on a boat fishing - but no entries for Zumba or P90X. What should these be entered as? TIA

  • Zumba - maybe under dance (??)

    Just a thought.

Needs to be added though - it is a major exercise craze right now.

    Zumba---dance (fast paced, modern twist)

As for P90X it depends on the workout.

    Plyo--calisthenics or high impact aerobics
    KenpoX--martial arts or kickboxing
    Cardio X--low impact aerobics.

I would just do gerneral strength training for the rest.

The best way to monitor would be to invest in a heart rate monitor though. Good luck! I hope you enjoy P90X!

I used to enter Zumba as Cardio-dance, fast pace. For me, it posts a much lower calorie burn than I reallly do burn...realized that after I bought a heart rate monitor and found out I was actually burning 928 calories in an hour instead of the 430 MFP was estimating!
  • I know!!! Same with P90X. I thought for sure they'd have them both on there. I know they vary a little based on where you are in the DVDs but I would think they'd have some avg standard to use. The wife just started her Zumba today and I plan on starting my P90X tonight. I thought about using "dance" for Zumba but didn't know if "dance" was intense enough for Zumba.

Since its considered Aerobics, I log it as Aerobics, general. I know I burn way more calories than it gives me, but I am ok with that.
