Clean it up!!!!!

Today begins a 2 week focus on really getting my food right. My trainer has given me a new weight training plan which I'm loving (I started this 2 week ago). I'm doing well with the workouts but I think cleaning up my diet is the thing that will push me through this plateau (I've been at 148/9 for 2 months!!!!) :explode: :explode:

It's not just about sticking to my calorie allowance now: it's more about eating less processed sugar and fewer carbs. I'm a fussy eater so can't go without carbs for breakfast but aside from that I'm going to try to have only protein, fruits and veggies throughout the day - what do you think?????????

Changes I've made already:

I've already worked on increasing my protein intake to more than 100g per day (up from about 50g)

Stopped working out excessively - I'm now doing a very challenging weight lifting plan 3 x per week plus some interval training

Trying to eat back my exercise cals - or at least make sure I net 1200 (but I'm trying to do this with quality calories rather than just eating empty calories)

Any other ideas, comments would be sooooooo useful. I have 9lbs to lose to get down to my goal of 140

  • I think your plan sounds great. Only you can know what will work best for your body. I think that making your calories healthier is an awesome idea! I wish you lots of luck!!

Good luck with your plan! It sounds like you're on the right track. I'm also trying to eat more clean foods, I've been experimenting off and on lately with going gluten free and am a lot less bloated when I don't eat gluten. Instead of just replacing gluten containing foods with their gf counterparts (gf pasta for example) I'm trying to just eat more whole foods (spaghetti squash instead).

Just to add what you've got listed I would say to make sure you're getting plenty of fiber (you should with the f&v!) and to watch your salt intake. Or maybe those are things I need to watch lol! :)
