Some people on here are just... Wow lol. Yesterday I completed my food diary & it DIDN'T say I was under my calorie goal. I used up all of my calories exactly. I had 0 calories remaining. Went for a walk yesterday & then had soup when I got home which put me about about 1400 calories for the day, or 1200 net calories.

I was left this comment: " It's nice to see someone unafraid to log the shortcomings. Very refreshing. "

Ummmmmm 0__o Is that not just a little rude?!

wait, WHAT? Someone was leaving you a comment like that for hitting your calorie goal? Some people just don't grasp the concept of MFP I guess. Having 0 calories remaining is EXACTLY what you want to shoot for every day.

I love it when people give backwards compliments like that, eh? Just HAD to include a bit of negativity, but with a "positive spin". Um, unnecessary, but thanks. lol

I still remember I had one girl who commented on a 0.4 lb. weight loss of mine with "Congrats. A small loss, but hey, any loss is good I guess". Gee, thanks? lol

My question is, are they implying that EVERYONE else is lying? hmm

Are they one of your "friends"? I'd delete them. Support like that is not necessary.

i would 'exercise' the use of the delete button (i think removing someone like that is worth at least 16 calories).

I think the internet allows people to be *kitten* when in real life they are big 'meows'. LOL Don't worry about it...that's the beauty of the DELETE button.

Yeah, I laughed it off, though, and then promptly deleted her from my "friends" list! I don't have room for people who can't TRULY help to celebrate successes, and you shouldn't have room for them, either! Surround yourself with people who will REALLY build you up, and who don't just pretend to support you.

We need people to encourage us. I am good enough at making myself feel guilty on "bad" eating days. I don't need anyone to help pile on the guilt! NOT that you should feel guilty. You hit the exact goal that you were aiming for, so WAY TO GO!

That is pretty rude. I congratulate them for keeping up with their log, if nothing else. If the diary is viewable I'll look at it... if they're spot on or barely over, I'll still tell them they're doing a great job. Negativity like what they told you is NOT helpful to anyone...
  • I feel like I'm in-between a rock and a hard place with my food diary. There are people on this website who get on you for not having it "public" which I think is a personal decision and nobody's business but your own. On the other hand if you have it public people feel the need to chime in some backwards comment A LOT. I find this site to be as frustrating as helpful sometimes.

Don't let it worry you ... i guess someone just needed to feel better about themselves.

They probably don't understand that your goal is EXACTLY where you want to be. I'm actually embarrassed when I'm under my goal for the day because I know it's unhealthy!

Uhhhh, wow. You ate exactly what you were supposed too. How exactly is that a short coming? Time to clean up your friends list

That's like when a person says, " I don't mean to be rude......" I hate those comments, lol.

No need to dwell on it or even bring it to the public forum. That person is not on your team. They have revealed their negative spirit and their desire to undercut and sabotage. Remove them and move on with your plan.

that is ridiculous. exactly reaching your goal is PERFECTION, not a shortcoming. congrats, and keep it up. you look great. everyone is always congratulated for being under their goal, which really isn't all that good since it puts us at risk for starvation mode. i am planning on increasing my calorie goal so i can stay under (it's a mental thing, i like to be 100-200cal under per day for my net) so that staying under doesnt EVER put me under 1200 (my actual goal).

Again, congrats...ignore the crazies that criticize your perfect days!!

That was rude. You don't need 'friends' like that.

I complimented a 'friend' on her loss and she went to her blog to complain that ANYONE (it wasn't only me) had dared compliment her on the loss as she found her loss disappointing! (She was hoping for a larger loss, so we were all a*holes for having complimented and encouraged her, apparently.)

You just can't win with some people. Let 'em go.

I would rather be a little over goal than under it personally. I figure if 1200 is the minimum, and less can send you into starvation mode, then 1245 is better than 1100.

Definitely delete and ignore the negative people. Backhanded "compliments" such as those shows more about the person than it does you. My diary is usually a mess, but it's public. I eat what I want, but in moderation [sometimes haha]. I'm not here to be cut and have 11% body fat, or be a fitness instructor, or anything else. I just wanted to lose some weight, learn to exercise, and figure out my eating habits.

Good job on meeting your exact calories! I have problems getting there :(

Ahhhhh how frustrating! That is why my diary isn't public... for every 10 supportive people there is one negative one that makes me want to scream!

Keep your chin up... ignore the unhelpful people and remember that this is a marathon not a sprint... you should be meeting your calorie goals that is the idea!

I deleted him! Thanks guys! It's just irritating because then I feel guilty about what I ate when it was all healthy! Grrr haha

I noticed that too!! I thought that was really weird cause your diary isn't public (at least not to me) and thought that was quite uncalled for, but maybe I was wrong. I guess I was not wrong.

Thats strange. I have found everyone on this site to be such cheerleaders for each other. I think maybe it came out wrong? Its kind of a weird comment. Either that or someone was feeling bad about themselves.
