Have never posted to a message board before, so don't know what I'm doing. Have been using the site since March 31. How is my "daily goal" calculated? I'm supposed to be trying for 1250 calories, but the goal number changes every day. Usually in the 1400's, but one day it was 1,900. I'm trying to stay at 1250 cals and ignore the daily goal. Also, am eating less and exercising more and have lost exactly - nothing. Frustrating to say the least.

you have your daily goal. you have left over calories if you don't reach your goal. if you exercise you burn some of the calories up so you have more calories to eat.0

You need to give it a fair bit of time to work. And make sure that you aren't eating less than your goal. Your body will go into starvation mode. I doubt that is the case yet, but eventually that will happen. And your daily goal factors in the calories you burn as well. Try to keep your net calories upwards of 1200. Some say eat the exercise calories and some say don't. I eat them and it has worked for me but everyone is different so maybe try both for a week and see what happens. good luck on your journey and feel free to add me to your friends list!0

Here are some threads that help explain how MFP works and why they give you the numbers they do, and why you may not be seeing a loss. Good luck with it!

Exactly, I'm not surprised you are not getting the results you want. These goals are set for a reason. Your body needs energy to burn and changing the numbers puts your body in a state of "confusion." Stick with the numbers, you'd be surprised.0
