How do you pack your fruit/perishables?

Hey everyone,
I want to start cutting out the sugary granola bars at lunch and replacing them with fresh fruit. I chopped up a bunch of strawberries and bananas and mixed them up with some blackberries, orange slices and grapes. However, I can't use an ice pack to keep them from going bad during the six hour period between packing and lunch. So, is freezing them and putting them into like tuppaware a good idea for the fruits above? Any suggestions?

why can't you use an icepack to keep them cold? you're going to lose alot of the juiciness and sweetness by freezing and the textures will change. grapes are awesome frozen (don't even thaw them, just eat them as is... been doing it since i was a kid). your berries will get tarter and mushy as they thaw. i have 2 gallon bags of frozen blueberries from last summer that i use for smoothies. i baked some muffins with them and they were mouth-puckering tart!0

They won't go bad... I always used to do this for lunch for school (pack at 7:00am, eat at noon), and I just used an ice pack. It takes longer than 6 hours for any food to go bad if you use an icepack, or if you REALLY can't use an ice pack, the freeze a container of yogurt. It'll keep the rest of your food cold, and provide another snack for later0

I can't use an ice pack mostly because I don't have one but also I pack my lunch in brown bags, wouldn't that soak the bag and rip it or something?0

You might want to pick up an insulated lunch bag. They even have them at Target.0

Place thee fruit in a tupperware container, but leave room. Fill a ziploc bag with some ice and place ontop of the fruit, then close the tupperware. It will prevent thee wet bag, keep the fruit cold, and at the end of the day you can just throw away thee melted bag of ice.
Ive done that for school before.lol0
